1. Your Writing Space
Chapters : Where your stories live. Your first chapter, “Alright, Here's Me,” is filled in during your application. After that, you choose what fits your story.
Categories : Groups of chapters (Before We Meet, Our Everyday, Our Chemistry, Our Future, Our Intimacy). Before We Meet is visible to everyone on the For You page; the rest unlock for your matches gradually, one category at a time (see Post Match Chapters).
Prompts : Every chapter gives you two writing prompts to choose from. Pick whichever one feels like you today.
Prompt Nudge : A small hint under each prompt with ideas if you're stuck.
2. Profile Highlights
Book Cover : The cover of your story. It doesn't have to be a selfie: it could be your dog, your guitar, or even a doodle.
Bio : A short line to sum up your personality. Use a lyric, a quote, or your favorite thing, keep it authentically you.
Profile Pics : Add 4–6 photos (at least one must include your face for verification). The first photo becomes your profile picture. Mix casual, candid, and personal moments for variety.
About Me : Choose from options or text boxes to share details (like work, beliefs, lifestyle). Keeping this visible often leads to more likes and matches.
3. Connection Controls
Dating Preferences : Filters for who you want to see. The same set of preferences is available to everyone. Update them often; you can change them once a day, and changes apply to the following day's feed.
Likes You Page Filters : Narrow down who liked you based on recent, nearby, comments, or verified. Available to everyone.
Likes You Chapter Filters : Filter who liked you based on which chapter of yours they engaged with. Ideal for finding people who resonate with your deeper stories. Available to everyone.
4. Interaction Features
Likes : You can only like a chapter, not just a profile. Spend time reading before you like. Thoughtful likes stand out more than random ones. No daily limit, no priority likes.
Comments : Send a like with a comment. Comment on something specific from their chapter, it's the best icebreaker.
Matches : When two people like each other. Start chatting quickly while the moment feels fresh.
Close Book : Unmatch someone, either with a note or directly. This helps avoid ghosting. Use it respectfully, closure keeps the space healthier.
We Met : Mark that you've met someone offline and give feedback so HumansHere can improve matches. Honest feedback helps refine your future connections.
Post Match Chapters : See the rest of your match's book as it unlocks over time (beyond Before We Meet). Reading their book makes conversations and dates feel more intimate.
Hide/Archive Chat : Tidy up your inbox without unmatching. Perfect for keeping things organized.
5. Visibility Settings
Private Mode : Browse profiles without being seen. Available to everyone. Explore quietly when you're in the mood to observe, not engage.
Pause : Temporarily hide your profile without deleting it. Handy during breaks so you don't lose progress.
Online Status : Show or hide when you're active.
6. Safety & Trust Tools
Selfie Verification : A two-step verification process that confirms your profile is real. Verified profiles earn more trust (and more matches).
Report/Remove Member : Block or report inappropriate behavior. Don't hesitate, your safety comes first.
7. Your Starting Point
Everyone comes to HumansHere from somewhere. A breakup. A new city. A life already full. A first try, or another try. We're just asking you to name it, in your own words, so we know where life has you right now.
Your Starting Point is not a bio, and it isn't shared with anyone. It won't appear on your profile, your matches will never see it, it's hidden by design.
Knowing where you're starting from helps us understand the person behind the profile, not just the words on it.
