HumansHere isn't a browse-and-swipe app. Every member starts with an application, not a blank profile.
Applying Isn't Browsing
Once you've created and verified your login, you're not dropped straight into the app. You're asked to build the opening chapter of your book first, because we want to meet the real you before we let anyone else in the room.
What You'll Fill In
Your application includes:
Book Cover : the cover of your story
Bio : a short line that sums you up
Photo Gallery : 4–6 photos, at least one clearly showing your face
Your first three chapters : all of Before We Meet: Alright, Here's Me; A Day in My Life; and My People
Your Starting Point : Knowing where you're starting from helps us understand the person behind the profile, not just the words on it.
This is the same material anyone browsing the For You page will eventually see of you, so it's worth taking your time with it.
What Happens After You Submit
Once you submit, your application goes to our team for review. We'll get back to you on whether you're in, or whether something needs a little adjusting first. Either way, you'll hear from us, there's no browsing the app while you wait.
Your First 2 Days
The moment you're accepted and step into the app, your 2-day free trial begins. During this window, everything is open to you: your daily match on the For You page, unlimited likes, matching, chatting, all of it.
After 2 Days: Becoming Taken
Once your trial ends, you'll need to become a Taken member to keep using HumansHere. Becoming Taken picks up right where your trial left off: no lost progress, no starting over. Your book, your matches, and your conversations all carry forward exactly as you left them.
If You Don't Become Taken
If your trial ends and you're not ready to become Taken yet, nothing is lost, the app just goes quiet for a while. Your account goes dormant: no new profiles on the For You page, no sending or receiving likes, no chatting, until you become Taken. Everything you've written and built stays exactly as it is: your book, your matches, your conversations, all saved and waiting. The moment you do become Taken, whenever that is, you pick up right where you left off.
