Most applications sail through review, and the ones that don't usually just need a small fix before we put them on hold and give people a chance to sort it out. But sometimes an application gets rejected. Here's what typically goes wrong, and why.
Your Location
HumansHere currently lives in Mumbai. If your application shows you're based outside the city, that's an automatic rejection, not because of anything about you, but because we're just not there yet. We're a young app building something intentional in one city at a time, and we'd rather do Mumbai right before we go anywhere else.
Your Book Cover
It was inappropriate, it looked like it was impersonating someone else, or it was blank or a plain colour where an actual image should be. When a cover is a clear violation rather than a fixable gap, it tips an application from "on hold" to "rejected."
Your Bio
A bio that's a random string of characters, that crosses the line on respect or our community guidelines, or that's such low effort it tells us nothing about you, whether alone or alongside other issues, signals the application isn't ready or isn't genuine.
Bios that are really just a personal social media link, a pitch for a service, or a brand promotion will also get rejected outright.
Your Gallery
Rejections here usually mean the gallery had multiple problems at once, or one problem serious enough on its own: several blurred or over-filtered photos, no clear face photo to verify you, duplicates standing in for real variety, images that didn't show you at all, or images that looked like impersonation.
Random screenshots, payment QR codes, anything selling a service, someone else's images, or stock photos will also get a profile rejected outright, no matter how the rest of the gallery looks.
Your Chapters
Chapters filled with gibberish, content that crosses the line on respect or our guidelines, or answers so generic they say nothing real, across more than one chapter, are the clearest sign an application isn't ready. This is the part we lean on most to understand you and find your matches, so when it isn't genuine, we can't do our job.
What This Means
A rejection almost always means more than one of these four things didn't pass, not just one small slip. It's less "fix this one thing" and more "this application, as a whole, isn't quite showing us the real you yet."
