HumansHere gives you control over how visible you are, how you interact with others, and even how you see measurements in the app. Here’s how to manage your privacy and display settings.
Pause
Pausing your account hides you from new people while letting you keep chatting with existing matches and writing entries.
To pause your account:
Tap your Profile Icon on the far right of the navigation bar.
Tap the Gear Icon (Settings).
Toggle the Pause switch ON.
To unpause your account:
Toggle the Pause switch OFF, or
Tap Unpause Profile on your Discover screen.
Notes:
Pausing your account will not pause your subscription.
Likes you’ve sent before pausing will still be delivered and can result in matches.
Show Online Status
This feature shows an approximate idea of when a member was last active. You may see “Active Now” next to a profile photo.
To adjust your status:
Tap your Profile Icon.
Tap the Gear Icon.
Find Show Online Status and toggle ON (black) to display or OFF (gray) to hide.
Notes:
If you hide your status, you can’t see others’ either.
Matches won’t see your status; it’ only visible in the For You feed.
If you don’t see someone’s status, they may have hidden it, not been active in the past day, or you’ve turned yours off.
Private Mode (Taken)
Private Mode keeps your profile private until you choose to show interest. Only the people you’ve liked will see you.
To turn on/off Private:
Tap your Profile Icon.
Tap the Gear Icon.
Toggle Private Mode ON (black) or OFF (gray).
Notes:
Available only with Taken.
While on, people you don’t like won’t see you at all.
Measurements - Display Setting
You can choose how you want to see measurement units in the app for both height and distance.
To change your measurement units:
Tap your Profile Icon.
Tap the Gear Icon (Settings).
Under Language and Region, tap Measurement Units.
Select your preferred units:
Height: Feet (FT) or Centimeters (CM)
Distance: Miles (MI) or Kilometers (KM)
