If We Dated: What It Is, and How It Works

Yellow Flower
Every profile that lands on your For You page comes with more than a book cover and a bio. It comes with, if we dated, a short note that reads like it was written by a close friend who's read both of your books and is trying to set you up.

What You'll Find In It

It's written like a real message from someone who knows you both, not a report. Reading one, you'll notice it:

  • Opens with something drawn from your own chapters, so you know this is really about the two of you, not just them.

  • Moves into something specific about the person you're looking at..

  • Points out a couple of things you'll probably love about them. Gives you a couple of honest  heads-up.

  • Wraps up with two first date ideas, built specifically for the two of you.

Where It Comes From

Everything in your note comes from what you and they have actually written in your chapters, that's the source of truth. A few details from your application quietly shape the background, so you won't see a bar suggested to someone who doesn't drink, and your date ideas will actually make sense for where you live.

Why It Gets Better the More You Write

The richer your chapters, the richer your note. If your chapters (or theirs) are still on the thinner side, you might see a shorter note for now, sometimes even a little message instead.

Every chapter you add gives if we dated more of the real you to work with. Which, honestly, is just how getting to know someone works.

If you or your match add a new chapter after your note's already been written, it can pick up on it and reflect what's new, so it's always worth checking back after you've added something.
